With snow and cold temperatures this winter, please remember that ice safety is very important in the winter months.

Lawrence Continuum of Care for the Homeless

The One Night Homeless Count is a yearly event to count the unsheltered homeless persons in the City of Lawrence.  The goal is to collect information to better serve the homeless living in the City.

Sweeney’s, 90 Essex Street.  Joe Ponti has renovated his current store to include food and catering.  

There are a few ongoing Mass Highway bridge construction projects in Lawrence, which include Amesbury Street Bridge and the Nyhan Bridge on Salem Street.  These projects are anticipated to be complete by years end.  This fall, Mass Highway work will commence on the O’Leary Bridge.  Though traffic will be impacted, this bridge will not close completely.  These multimillion dollar public infrastructure projects will result in a state of the art public transportation infrastructure.

Please be aware that the City of Lawrence winter parking ban is in effect through Sunday, March 15th.  

Tax Preparation Assistance for Low Income Families
Greater Lawrence Community Action Council Inc., 305 Essex Street in Lawrence will be offering FREE TAX preparation services again this year for low-income families.~ The days and hours for the FREE TAX PREPARATION will be held every Tuesdays and Thursdays,
4pm– 7 PM, from February 3rd through April 7th, 2009.~ If you need more information or would like to get an appointment please call 978-681-4900, and ask for Anitza at extension 200.
